In a method for conducting remote-controlled irradiation in a recharging system and having the following components: - an applicator into which a remotely controlled radiator can be inserted and which is mounted on the patient during irradiation, - a motorised drive for the radiator, - a master computer which produces control data from input program data, - a control computer which converts the control data into control signals for the drive, the detection of the first error can also be achieved without the use of a second monitoring control computer by means of the following method steps: - with the aid of measured-value transmitters, actual data on the position of the radiator are determined and fed to the control computer, - the master computer simulates the movement of the radiator from the control data and establishes the respective desired data, - the control computer transfers the actual data to the master computer, and with the aid of the master computer a comparison of the desired data and actual data is undertaken and evaluated, and if necessary control commands for retracting the radiator are generated.
