The guidance system for missiles which have at least one infrared radiation source, having imaging optics (1) and a detector (2) for infrared radiation, the signal of which infrared radiation is used to control the missile, is distinguished by the fact that it has a video camera (1, 2), especially a matrix-CCD camera (1, 2), a storage device (5) for an image from the camera (1, 2), comparison devices (6) for different images from the camera (1, 2), and a discriminator circuit (7) for separating and evaluating the pixels which are becoming smaller in intensity. <IMAGE>
