Bumper

A bumper has a support (1) which is fastened to the vehicle's frame. In front of the support (1) there is arranged a hollow body (5) which is made of a thermoplastic material and is filled with air, and in front of the hollow body (5) there is arranged a plastic lining (4). The hollow body (5) is fixedly connected to the lining (4). The spaces (9 and 10) between the hollow body (5) and the support (1) on one side and the lining (4) on the other are filled with a granular material. The bumper is therefore able to take up a relatively large amount of kinetic energy, revert to its original shape after a collision and has a relatively short assembly dimension. <IMAGE>
