The arrangement comprises a housing (1) with a latch bolt (2) movable between a protruding (shown) and a retracted position. At least one operation axis (6) is provided at which is installed a follower (7) turnable by a lock operating device (not shown), with a turnable guiding element (3) for transmitting force from the follower to the latch bolt for moving the latch bolt into its retracted position, and a first spring (5) acting to return the latch bolt to its protruding position. The housing contains a second spring (8), which is installed around, a guiding member (7a) in the follower (7) and is arranged to act on the operating device for moving the operating device into a position corresponding to the protruding position of the latch bolt, one end of said second spring being detachably supported against a retainer (9) fixed to the follower (7) so that in its supported position the second spring (8) augments the action of the first spring (5). An opening (11) in the housing (1) allows the spring (8) to be brought into or out of the supported position by means of a tool. Where a handle is the operating device the spring (8) is mounted in retainer (9) if a turn knob is used instead of the handle the spring (8) is re moved from retainer (9) - thus the correct spring fore is set from outside the housing. <IMAGE> |
