PURPOSE:To reduce a deflection flow at all positions of an area of group of pipes and to improve an efficiency of heat exchanging operation by a method wherein a porous pipe is arranged at an opening for varying a flowing direction in perpendicular thereto when fluid is flowed from pipes to a shell part having a plurality of pipe groups. CONSTITUTION:Combustion gas is flowed in a pipe 1 and is flowed into a shell 2. The combustion gas at an inlet part of the shell is passed through the porous pipe 8 and a flow rate is distributed in proportion to the size of hole and a pitch. After this, the gas enters an area of group of pipes and heat exchanged with a low temperature fluid flowing in a thermal conducting pipe 5, passed through a gap 6 and flows downwardly, flowing in a group of pipes at the lower part of a baffle 3 and then is discharged out of the unit through a lower pipe 7. Arrangement of the porous pipe 8 causes the deflection flow to be re duced, a ratio between a maximum speed and a mean speed is reduced at all positions in the area of the group of the pipes. With this arrangement, the deflection flow can be reduced and the efficiency of heat exchanging operation can be improved.
