PURPOSE:To always keep the ambient gas bellow its explosion limits, by blowing an ambient gas jet onto the side where the ambient gas of coating and drying equipment tends to stagnate to eliminate the stagnant part of the ambient gas and to eliminate the deposition of mist on a wall surface. CONSTITUTION:An ambient gas jetting pipeline 7 is provided at the sites where the ambient gas tends to stagnate such as the inside of a furnace casing 1 of the equipment for drying a coated article S, the corners 1a and bends of ambient gas circulating duct 4-6. An ambient gas jet is blown onto the sites where the gas tends to stagnate from the nozzle of the pipeline 7 to eliminate the stagnant part of the ambient gas. As a result, the deposition of paint mist on the inner furnace wall at the sites where the gas tends to stagnate is prevented, the deposition of the mist released from the wall surface on the surface of the coated article S is eliminated, the replacement of the ambient gas is promoted, combustible gas is not accumulated, and the operation can be safely carried out at all times while keeping the gas below the explosion limits.
