PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device usable for a long period, by providing meshes made of a hydrogen occlusion alloy to the inner part of a vessel of a hydrogen trap device and a heater to the outer part of the vessel. CONSTITUTION:In the hydrogen trap device, an economizer 2 is received in a body vessel 1, and buckles 3 are disposed in zigzag. The meshes made of hydrogen occlusion alloy is arranged in a cooling material passage of the body vessel 1. Air cooling fins 4 for cooling Na are provided to the outer circumference of the body vessel 1, and a heater 5 for heating the hydrogen occlusion alloy is provided to the outside of the cooling fins 4. Na, a cooling material for a high speed breeder, is flowed from an inlet pipe 8, and discharged from an outlet pipe 9, while the hydrogen in the Na is occluded in a low temperature. When a specific amount of the metallic hydride is produced in the hydrogen occlusion alloy, the hydrogen is discharged by heating with the heater 5.
