PURPOSE:To expose the content of pollen grains completely, without causing the degradation of the active component of the pollen, by crushing frozen pollen grains together with the pollen mantle with an impact crusher. CONSTITUTION:Pollen grains are frozen by immersing in a cold liquefied gas such as liquid nitrogen for about 60-90sec. The grains made brittle by freezing are crushed to fine powder with an impact crusher at a high rate of revolution, i.e. >=8,000rpm. |
