PURPOSE:To perform the function of a remote party selective connection without imposing a psychological and physical burden on the remote party by providing a voice recognizing means to a telephone set, and controlling the holding or the disconnection of a line according to whether a received voice coincides with a previously registered password or not. CONSTITUTION:The optionally determined password is stored in a main body part 1 beforehand, and when an incoming from a line wire is detected by an interfacing part 2, the main body part 1 connects the line once through a line controlling part 4. Next, it sends the password in a synthetic voice, and simultaneously the main body part 1 starts a voice recognizing part 3, and comes to a voice input waiting state. When a caller issues the password, it is transmitted to the telephone set of a receiving side, and is inputted to the voice recognizing part 3 through the interfacing part 2, and the result of its recognizing processing is transferred to the main body part 1. The main body part 1 decides whether the inputted voice coincides with the registered password or not, and if it coincides, it holds a line connection state and generates a ringing tone from a speaker 7. If it does not coincide, it informs the purport to the caller, and disconnects the line.
