PURPOSE:To turn over a number page and to display the reception of a designated program quickly through the operation of a prescribed key by providing a selection key by genre and an up/down key for program number and page to a remote controller. CONSTITUTION:The remote controller 30 is provided with the selection key 36 by genre and program number and page up/down keys 37, 38, and when the key 36 is selected, a program number data is sent to a picture processing MPU 9 via a photodetection section 31 and a system control MPU 20. A character signal data extracted by a data clock generating circuit 4 is extracted from a video signal inputted from a video signal input terminal 1 is stored at first tentatively in a packet buffer 7. Then all program data of program numbers of a genre corresponding to each field are stored in a program storage RAM 15 from each buffer 7. As a result, a designated program is displayed for reception immediately by operating the key 37 and the program page is turned over by the operation of the key 38.
