PURPOSE:To permit efficient dehydration and pelletization of hardly dehydratable sludge, by providing rotary pelletizing vessels which have internally projections to finely segment the entire part of the supplied sludge and to stagnate the sludge for a while and a rotary dehydrating vessel which is circumferentially covered with a water permeating body prohibiting the permeation of pellets. CONSTITUTION:The sludge is successively supplied to the continuously provided plural rotary vessels 3, 4 and is thereby dehydrated and pelletized. The projections 3b to finely segment the entire part of the supplied sludge and to stagnate the sludge for a while are provided in the plural rotary pelletizing vessels 3. The rotary dehydrating vessel 4 which is circumferentially covered with the water permeating body prohibiting the permeation of the pellets is disposed behind the vessel 3. More specifically, the solid content of the sludge slurry is finely ground by the rotary pelletizing vessels and the hardly releasable water held among the particles is thereby easily released and removed. The formation of the sludge cake having a low moisture content is thereby permitted and the treatment efficiency thereof is improved.
