PURPOSE:To aim at reducing the frequency of replacement of filter elements, by allowing slurry containing spherical particles to flow into a mesh pan container provided upstream of a filtering tower having fiber filter elements, so as to form a filtering layer. CONSTITUTION:Slurry 41 containing spherical particles is fed from a cleaning tank 1 by means of a cleaning pump 4 into a mesh pan container 2 disposed upstream of a filtering tower 3, so as to form a spherical particle charged filtering layer 42. Then, liquid from which the spherical particles are separated due to inertia force, and which contains contaminated micro-particles, is allowed to flow into the mesh pan container, and therefore, a most part of the liquid is filtered by the spherical particle filtering layer 42 and is then fed into the filtering tower 3 having fiber filter elements. In thus arranged pipe line circuit, a liquid cyclone 5 and a sedimentation tank 6 are provided in the mesh pan container 2, and the container 2 is back-washed by a back washing pump 8 to enhance the filtering efficiency of the spherical particles filtering layer 42, thereby it is possible to reduce the frequency of replacement of the fiber filter elements in the filtering tower 3.
