<p>Moulds filled with crumble are fed in on a trolley below platens fitted to the upper wall of the press structure. The moulds are then raised into contact with the platens and these ride up so that plates carrying bags contact the top of the housings. The bags are then inflated under pressure thus forcing the platens down and pressing the crumble in the moulds. The moulds are finally lowered clear for removal, after the whey has been squeezed out. Several moulds can be grouped together with a perforated bottom possibly, in which case this has to be aligned with ejectors in the top of the press for an automatic ejection operation after crumble pressing.</p> |
