PURPOSE:To reduce the corrosion of a steam compressor to a negligible extent, by adding an acid to convert the bicarbonate and carbonate ions in a raw liq. into CO2, and discharging the CO2 to the outside of the system along with the CO2 already contained before the addition of the acid and the dissolved oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger 9 for heating the raw liq. 15 to obtain steam, the steam compressor 4 for compressing the steam to obtain compressed steam, and a mechanism for heating the heat exchanger 9 to obtain distilled water with the compressed steam as a heat source are provided. The acid from devices 18 and 19 is added to convert the bicarbonate and carbonate ions contained in the raw liq. into CO2. Meanwhile, a degasification tower 7 and the heat exchanger 9 are evacuated 17 by the ejector 16 driven by the raw water simultaneously pumped up by a circulating pump 6. The raw water is sprayed into the degasification tower 7, and the CO2 is discharged to the outside of the system along with the CO2 already contained before the addition of the acid and the dissolved oxygen. As a result, the corrosion of the compressor 4 is reduced, and the deposition of scales on the heat-transfer tubes in the heat exchanger can be prevented.
