NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R is H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or amino; R<1> is H, lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, acyl, etc.; R<2> and R<3> are lower alkyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl; Y is 2-5C alkylene; Z is O or S) and an acid addition salt thereof. EXAMPLE:3-(3-Cyclohexylthioureido)-1-(2-diisopropylaminoethyl)indolin- 2-one. USE:A drug. A remedy for gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer for mammals including human, showing excellent antiulcer action on experimental ulcer, especially on stress ulcer, not showing sleep prolonging action found in central nervous system depressant and not exhibiting side effects even in high dose. PREPARATION:A novel compound shown by formula II is reacted with a compound shown by having III (R<5> is R<1> except H) in an inert solvent to give a compound shown by formula I wherein R<1> is except H.
