PURPOSE:To collect detailed information on occurrence of a fault without interrupting the processing by inhibiting the switching action of the working area following the next processing to use only the working area at one side when the abnormality is detected and switching the working area to restart the processing with a command given from a host device after the prescribed processing is applied to the abnormality. CONSTITUTION:If a microprogram detects the abnormality during execution of a READ command, the microprogram inhibits to switch the working areas to a working area W2 after the next command processing and uses a working area W1 only to continue the processing. An operator damps a memory and outputs the information to a line printer 6. Then a command is applied to release the state where the switching is inhibited between working areas. A communication control device 1 is reset to a normal state where both areas W1 and W2 are switched mutually by a command of a central processor 2.
