PURPOSE:To have nickel hydroxide precipitated uniformly inside a sintered substrate so as to enable any scatter of battery capacity to be restricted, by setting the characteristic of aqueous solution of nickel salt staying on the surface of a nickel plate which is in form of a twin pole, to prossess pH value less than that at which nickel hydroxide is yielded. CONSTITUTION:PH of aqueous solution of nickel salt staying on the surface of a nickel electrode 2 which is a twin pole of porous sintered substrate 3 and held in a titanium basket is maintained below pH3 at which nickel hydroxide is precipitated. The process therefor, is to constanty supply aqueous solution of nickel nitrate prossessing pH 0-3 similar to that of a solution relating to electrolytic reaction. Owing to this process, cumulation of sludge onto nickel hydroxide to ward the inside of the titanium basket can be suppressed, that is a target in the process of electrolysis, so that any scatter of battery capacity can be prevented. |
