PURPOSE:To easily set an optimum recording level by providing a means for determining an amplification factor of an input signal so as to become the maximum value which can be handled by an A/C converter, when an analog signal input from a digital audio apparatus indicates the maximum value, at the time of dubbing to a PCM signal recording and reproducing device from the digital audio apparatus. CONSTITUTION:An analog signal from a digital audio apparatus such as a CD is attenuated by a damping ratio determined by a recording level adjusting volume (VR) 2, and inputted to an amplifier 4. Values of a resistance 6 and 7 are set to a value for attenuating an input signal so that an output of an A/D converter 5, when the maximum value of an analog output signal of the digital audio apparatus is inputted to an analog signal input terminal 1. Accordingly, by turning on a recording level fixing SW3, the input signal level from the digital audio apparatus is attenuated suitably, and an optimum recording level is obtained.
