PURPOSE:To obtain fibers for molding an FRP, into which a matrix resin can penetrate densely and closely, by distributing a fibrous matrix resin among reinforcing fibers. CONSTITUTION:A fiber prepared by dispersing a fibrous matrix resin 2 among reinforcing fibers 1 of carbon, Kevlar or glass fiber. In this fiber, a matrix resin 2 is previously distributed among reinforcing fibers 1, so that it can easily penetrate into the reinforcing fibers when it is molten, thus enabling molding of a void-free dense FRP. Since the matrix resin 2 in fibrous form is previously distributed among the reinforcing fibers, there is no need of freshly impregnating them with a matrix resin so that a resin impregnation step can be omitted. Therefore, production cost can be reduced.
