PURPOSE:To smoothly start the titled device, even if a contact surface state of a bearing and a supporting shaft is deteriorated, by setting a driving current or voltage so that a larger electromagnetic force can be applied at the time of starting than after starting, at the time of driving an optical system holding body in the supporting shaft direction. CONSTITUTION:A driving device having a driving amplifier 5, a focusing coil 6, a comparator 7, a differential amplifier 2, a controlling circuit 9, a saw tooth wave generating circuit 8, etc. is provided, and at the time of driving an optical system holding body 11 in the supporting shaft 21 direction, a driving current or voltage to be applied is set so that larger electromagnetic force is applied at the time of starting than after starting. In such a way, even if the dimension accuracy of the supporting shaft 21 or a bearing 24, etc., or a surface state is varied due to using environment, or swelling is generated in a resin agent which is applied, the device can be started smoothly.
