MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having high reliability by using a fluorinated carbon oil which is previously subjected to a heating treatment as a lubricating agent to form a lubricating agent layer of the magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium has the lubricating agent layer on the surface and the lubricating agent to constitute said lubricating agent layer is the fluorinated carbon oil. This oil is subjected to the heating treatment at the temp. lower than the decomposing temp. of the oil before the oil is applied on the medium surface in order to form the lubricating agent layer. The heating treatment is preferably executed in a nitrogen atmosphere. The low molecular components and (or) impurities contained in the lubricating agent are thereby removed and the magnetic recording medium having the high long- period reliability is obtd.
