PURPOSE:To facilitate an ultrasonic flaw detection test over the entire circumference of a small-calibre tube, by forming an ultrasonic vibrator as a circular assembly to perform an ultrasonic scanning thereof. CONSTITUTION:Numerous ultrasonic vibrators 2 are arranged circularly in several rows inside a dividable doughnut-shaped body 1 and as many pin connectors 3 as the vibrators 2 are arranged on the circumference of the body 1. The vibrators 2 are linked to the connectors 3 respectively through a lead 4. In the assembly of such a circular vibrator 2, the transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves are switched sequentially utilizing an external phase control type ultrasonic flaw detection tester. This enables ultrasonic flaw detection in the circumferential direction of a tube by electronic scanning. |
