In a modification the hopper 10 may be replaced by a conveyor belt or the body 13 can be placed outside the band 9 so that it removes material from the outer surface thereof by a scraping action as well as electrostatic action. In a further modification the band may be replaced by a rotatable drum and the spray head may also be directed to spray directly on to the surface thereof without a hopper or conveyor.
