PURPOSE:To update an operation system data base with high accuracy by registering and checking required to updata the operation system data base in a master file prior to the updata. CONSTITUTION:A specified date (A) from a terminal device is October 1 of 1986, a record (10) read out of the master file 1 is not within the range of a data of validity and not used to update the operation system data base 3. When the specified date (A) is set after November 1 of 1986, only a record (12) is used to update the operation system data base 3. For the purpose, data necessary for the operation system data base 3 are registered and checked previously and then only the necessary data are supplied for the update when the data base needs to be updated.
