PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition having inhibitory effects on metastasis of tumor cell, containing a specific amount of alpha-linolenic acid. CONSTITUTION:A fat and oil composition having inhibitory action on metastasis of tumor cell containing >=20wt.% alpha-linolenic acid. The weight ratio of alpha- linolenic acid and linoleic acid of >=1, preferably >=3, further preferably >=4. The composition contains no long-chain oligo-enoic acids with are contained in fish oils and regarded as one of dangerous factors for heart diseases. The composition has no fear of excess intake of vitamin A, vitamin D and choles terol caused by intake of a large amount of the composition. The composition contains >=20wt.%, preferably >=30wt.%, further preferably >=40wt.% alpha-linolenic acid and a mixed oil of beefsteak plant oil, linseed oil, etc., and another edible oil such as preferably vegetable oil is used as fats and oils having the composi tion.
