PURPOSE:To provide a recording material having favorable color forming properties, raw preservability and stability of developed color images and showing light absorption in near infrared region at a color-developed part, by incorporating a spiropyran derivative or a spirothiopyran derivative and an electron- acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:A spiropyran derivative or spirothipyran derivative to be used is preferably one represented by general formula (I) or (II), wherein each of R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, R<4> and R<5> is hydrogen, a 1-10C alkyl, aralkyl, aryl or halogen, each of R<6> and R<7> is hydrogen, a 1-10C alkyl or aralkyl, a is an aromatic ring, R<8> is hydrogen, a 1-10C alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, each of B and C is an aromatic ring, X<2> is oxygen or sulfur, Y<2> is C-R<2> or nitrogen, and Z is a divalent linking group. An electron-acceptive compound is preferably one of compounds consisting of salicylic acid derivatives and metallic salts, particularly, a zinc salt. |
