NEW MATERIAL:An aromatic diamine containing pyridine rings expressed by formula I (X is formula II, formula III or formula IV; substitution position of amino groups is present in the 3- or 4- position to ether linkage). EXAMPLE:1,4-Phenylenedioxy-bis[6-(3-aminophenoxy)-6-pyridine]. USE:A raw material monomer of polyimide resin or polyamide resin having excellent heat resistance, adhesion and moldability. PREPARATION:A 2-(aminophenoxy)-6-halogenopyridine expressed by formula V (Y is chlorine or bromine) is reacted with biphenols expressed by the formula HO-X-OH in the presence of a base and in an aprotic solvent to provide the compound expressed by formula I.
