PURPOSE:To contrive the shortening of an access time by fitting a couple of heads to a common actuator to be a prescribed relation and moving a head close to an object track to the object track. CONSTITUTION:Two heads 2a, 2b are fixed to an actuator 7 rocked around a shaft 7c by a step motor 4 so that they oppose to each track while the center 1a of the magnetic disk 1 is bridged over and the sum of track numbers by the heads 2a, 2b is constant. Then the position of the other head 2b is calculated from the track position by one head 2a and the head 2a or 2b closer to the objective track is moved to the object position. Thus, the maximum moving distance of the head is halved in comparison with the one head. As a result, the access time is reduced without changing the performance of the access motor and the high speed access is applied substantially.
