PURPOSE:To improve bead quality and the seizure resistance and removability of slag by incorporating specific weight % of CaF2, Al2O3, SiO2 and CaO together with prescribed ratios of Ba and Na fluorides with respect to the total amt. of SiO2 and CaO into a titled flux. CONSTITUTION:This flux is formed by incorporating, by weight, 40-60% CaF2, 15-25% Al2O3, 3-15% SiO2 and 2-15% CaO therein and adding respectively 5-15% either or both of BaF2 and NaF thereto. The ratio of either BaF2 or NaF to be added is confined to a 0.7-1.5 range ratio to the total amt. of SiO2 and CaO in the case of adding only either thereof to the flux and the said ratio is controlled to a 1.2-1.5 range in the case of adding both the fluorides to the flux. The seizure resistance and removability of the slag are improved by the addition of the fluorides of Ba and Na at an adequate ratio to the flux. The CaF2, SiO2, Al2O3 and CaO all contribute to the formation of smooth and good beads. |
