In a pipe coupling with internal fluid coupling devices (12, 23) and an external bayonet lock (18, 19, 21, 22) where the first part of the bayonet lock is positioned on a pivotal but axially immobile lock bearing (6), a lengthwise input duct (28) is formed in the lock bearing (6) from the end and a distance into the bearing, from there a transverse mid duct (30), which can extend through the wall of the bearing (6), and finally a transverse lock window (18) with a latch (32), which is also transverse. Through the lock window (18) with latches being formed as a transverse opening it is made possible to verify from the outside whether the lock pin (21) in question has engaged correctly with the latch (32). Through forming the input duct (28) like a slot with a base (34) of a certain thickness, the weakness of the lock bearing's (6) area is counteracted, as effected the transverse openings. The lock pins (21) are pressed into the appropriate latches (32) by a spring (14) and/or the pressure prevalent in the coupled pipes (1, 2).<IMAGE>
