PURPOSE:To improve the graininess and color reproducibility of the titled material by incorporating a specific coupler to at least one layer of a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a compd. which reacts with the oxidant of the color developing agent, but does not contribute to image formation to a photographic constituting layer and processing the color photosensitive material with a color developer having >=11pH. CONSTITUTION:The coupler shown by formula I is incorporated to at least one layer of the silver halide photosensitive emulsion layer, and the compd. which reacts with the oxidant of the color developer, but does not contribute to the image information is incorporated to at least one layer of the photographic constituting layer. The color photosensitive material is processed with the color developer having pH of >=11. In formula I, Z is a non-metallic atomic group necessary to forming a nitrogen contg. heterocyclic ring, the ring formed by Z group may be substituted, R is hydrogen atom or a substituent group. Thus, the good desilvering property and color reproducibility of the titled material are obtd.
