PURPOSE:To obtain a water-soluble lubrication oil composition having excellent lubricity as a metal working lubricant and low frothing tendency, by using a specific carboxyl-containing monoester and a specific amine salt or an alkali metal salt as essential components. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubrication oil composition contains (A) a carboxyl-containing monoester produced by reacting (i) one or more kinds of acid anhydrides of formula I (R<1>-R<3> are H, alkyl or alkenyl) with (ii) one or more kinds of polyoxyalkylene compounds having molecular weight of 400-2,000 and selected from an adduct of polyoxyethylene (POE) to a polyhydric alcohol, a random or block adduct of POE and polyoxypropylene (POP) to a polyhydric alcohol, an adduct of POE to a monohydric alcohol of formula II (R is <=4C alkyl) and a random or block adduct of POE and POP to a monohydric alcohol of formula III and (B) an (alkanol)amine and/or an alkali metal compound. |
