摘要 PURPOSE:To measure viscosity continuously by feeding fluid at a constant flow rate to a pipeline supported by elastic materials and measuring the reaction or moving amt. by the viscous resistance of a pipe wall from the deformation amt. of the elastic materials. CONSTITUTION:The fluid is sent by a constant flow rate pump 7 into the circular pipe 2 supported to a housing 1 by the elastic materials 3. The inside surface area of the pipe 2 is given by 2pirL if the inside radius of the pipe 2 is designated as (r) and the length as L. The viscous force F by the viscosity of the fluid is determined by F=2pirL.Ds if the velocity gradient of the viscous fluid on the inside surface of the circular pipe is Ds. Ds is considered constant and F similitude n is obtd. so that the pipe 2 receives the force proportional to the viscosity (n) in the case of stationary flow. Strain gages 4 attached to the elastic material 3 supporting the pipe 2 change the resistance by the deformation of the elastic material 3 according to the force F and the change in the resistance value is drawn out via lead wires 5, a terminal 6 and drawing out leads 11 and is displayed by a display device 9 via an amplifier 8. The signal is simultaneously taken out by an output terminal 10.
