PURPOSE:To prevent a plate-making machine from being damaged due to the supply of an inappropriate stencil paper, by providing a selvedge part of the stencil paper with small holes at predetermined positions, and providing the plate-making machine with a pair of sensors. CONSTITUTION:A film 3 for perforation and a selvedge part 2 are provided on a base paper of a stencil paper 1. The selvedge part 2 is provided with a perforating region 4, in which small holes 4-1, 4-2 for discrimination of the kind of the stencil paper are provided at a different positions but at a fixed distance from the leading edge 2a of the selvedge part. The propriety of the stencil paper is discriminated by the presence or absence of an output from a discriminating sensor 15 when the leading edge 2a of the selvedge part of the stencil paper supplied in the direction of an arrow by feeding rollers 10, 11 is detected by a sensor 14. When the stencil paper is inappropriate, an output from a discriminating circuit cuts off the energization of a thermal head or causes the feeding rollers 10, 11 to be stopped and reversely rotated. |
