PURPOSE:To obtain the titled dye of lupin color, outstanding in wet fastness, friction fastness, light fastness and color developability, by formulating specific two kinds of monoazo dye in specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:The objective dye can be obtained by formulating (A) 10-90wt.% of a monoazo dye of formula I, having such crystal transformation as to be characterized by X-ray diffraction pattern (CuKalpha) giving one highly intense peak at a diffraction angle (2theta) ca. 14.2 deg., one intense peak at ca. 24.5 deg., and also four weak peaks at ca. 16.9 deg., 23.6 deg., 25.2 deg. and 26.8 deg., respectively, and (B) 90-10wt.% of a second monoazo dye of formula II (X and Y are each H or Cl). The compound of the formula I can be prepared by diazotizing a compound of formula III followed by coupling with a compound of formula IV; and the compound of the formula II by diazotizing a compound of formula V followed by coupling with a compound of formula VI.
