PURPOSE:To possible to make a burner extremely thin, small and realize low cost with the expanded T.D.R. by providing a thin longitudinal type annular burner main body and a combustion plate which is narrow and has an U shape flame hole section pierced and a short flame holding plate above the combustion plate. CONSTITUTION:When a fuel is supplied from a fuel supplied pipe 6 and air in a total primary system, for instance, from an air supply pipe respectively, an uniform mixture gas is formed in a mixing chamber 8, and this mixture gas is jetted out from a flame hole section 10 of a combustion plate 11 of U shape in a longitudinal type annular burner body 9. When the mixture gas is ignited by an ignitor 15, a primary flame 16 and secondary flame 17 which are annular and blue in color are formed on the combustion plate 11 of the flame hole section 10 and annular and a complete combustion is achieved. Specifically at this time, the flame hole sections 10 are mutually opposite because of the U shape constitution of the combustion plate 11, and the annular blue flames (primary flame 16, secondary flame 17) are firmly held and there is no division reaction of the combustion flames likely to diffuse in the left and right and up-and-down directions due to draft inducing action, and thin annular flame is distributed uniformly and stable complete combustion is made, making is possible to realize a burner body which is of thin thickness.
