PURPOSE:To increase the product yield of agglomerates by coating green pellets of a larger diameter with a larger amt. of coke breeze when agglomerates for a blast furnace are manufactured by sticking coke breeze to the surfaces of green pellets consisting of fine iron ore and a flux and by firing the pellets. CONSTITUTION:Fine iron ore and powder of quick lime, slaked lime, limestone, bentonite, dolomite, water granulated blast furnace slag or the like as a flux are charged into a drum mixer 1 and mixed. The mixture is kneaded with water and pelletized by means of a discoid pelletizer 2 to form green pallets. The green pellets are classified with a screen 4 into green pellets of a larger diameter and green pellets of a smaller diameter. The larger pellets are coated with 4.0-4.5% coke breeze by means of pelletizer 3a and the smaller pellets are coated with about 0.5-1.0% coke breeze by means of a pelletizer 3b so as to coat the pellets with 2.5-4.0 coke breeze as a whole. The coated pellets are fired in a firing furnace provided with a travelling endless grate to manufacture agglomerates in a high product yield.
