PURPOSE:To measure the electrification quantity of a liquid by detecting the charge quantity of static electricity shifted to an electric conductive container from the liquid, by measuring the charging potential of a capacitor connected electrically to the container. CONSTITUTION:A sample liquid 21 electrified due to an emission from a nozzle 6 and a collision (frictional contact) with an insulating plate 11 drops down into an electric conductive tank 8 and stored therein. The charge of static electricity electrified to the sample liquid 21 stored in such a way is shifted to the electric conductive tank 8 body insulated against the ground, then is stored in a standard capacitor 15 transmitted to the electric conductive plate 12 of a detecting plate 7, and a coaxial cable 14 in order. The potential of the capacitor 15 in which the charge is stored is amplified and measured by the amplifying part 17 of an electrostatic potential measuring part 16, and displayed on an indicator 18 and a recorder 19.
