PURPOSE:To develop an Al-base alloy partly having amorphous structure and combining high hardness and electric resistance value with high strength and wear resistance, by subjecting an Al alloy with a specific composition to press forming, extrusion, or hot forging at a temp. in a specific temp. range. CONSTITUTION:A molten Al-base alloy M having a composition represented by general formula [1] [where, M means one or more elements among Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni, X means either or both of semimetals, Si and Ge, and the contents of the above are represented by atom% and the symbols (a), (b), and (a+b) stand for 4-23, 8-54, and 12-67, respectively, and, when M means Ni, 9-12, 13-25, and 22-37, respectively] is prayed on a rapidly rotating single roll R, which is cooled very rapidly and formed into a tape-shaped A having a structure in which amorphous structure comprises >=50vol%. This tape-shaped alloy A is subjected to press forming, extrusion, or hot forging at a temp. in a range of crystallization temp. + or -100 deg.C, so that Al-base alloy combining high strength with high wear resistance and capable of high-degree bending can be obtained.
