PURPOSE:To obtain a food quality preservative, providing excellent effects on quality preservation such as freshness and oxidation prevention of a variety of perishable foods and processed foods, by blending tocopherol with a sesame extract and sorbitol. CONSTITUTION:Tocopherol, preferably purified tocopherol obtained by molecular distillation and/or ion exchange resin processing is blended with a sesame extract such as raw sesame oil or that obtained by treating the raw sesame oil with an ion exchange resin and/or silica gel and, if necessary, further by molecular distillation and sorbitol in ratio of 0.05-1.0pts.wt. raw sesame oil based on 1pt.wt. tocopherol and 1-80pts.wt. sorbitol for 1pt.wt. raw sesame oil and, as required made into an oil-in-water emulsion.
