PURPOSE:To increase the utilization of active material in a paste type negative electrode by using cadmium oxide powder having the maximum absorbing wave number in 1000 cm<-1> or more in infrared absorption spectrum as active material. CONSTITUTION:Based on the relation between the performance of cadmium oxide powder and the absorbing band of infrared absorption spectrum, the relation between the maximum absorbing wave number of infrared absorption spectrum and the utilization of a negative active material is obtained. Based on the data, cadmium oxide having the maximum absorbing wave number in 1000 cm<-1> or more is used in a negative electrode. By using this cadmium oxide, the negative electrode having high active material utilization can be obtained. |
