PURPOSE:To produce a molding tool for reaction molding having a dense smooth surface by supplying electric current to an electrically conductive layer formed on the surface of a model to generate heat, thermally spraying a metal on the surface of the electrically conductive layer and stripping off a formed shell layer and the electrically conductive layer. CONSTITUTION:A model 1 is made of a heat resistant material such as gypsum and an electrically conductive layer 2 of carbon, a metal or the like is formed on the surface of the model 1. Electric current is supplied to the layer 2 to heat the surface to a temp. close to the m.p. of a metal to be thermally sprayed such as Bi, Sn, Zn or Pb and the metal is thermally sprayed to form a shell layer 3. Since the surface of the layer 2 is heated, the shell layer 3 can be made uniform and dense. The layers 2, 3 are then stripped off and the rear side of the layer 3 is reinforced with a metallic material 4 having a lower m.p. than the layer 3 to obtain a molding tool. |
