PURPOSE:To enhance plate making efficiency and to conserve printing paper, by a method wherein a manuscript is reciprocally moved across an image sensing position and the image of the same surface of the manuscript is sensing at both times of forward and backward movements and a plurality of the same calligraphy images are formed to screen printing base paper by plate making techique. CONSTITUTION:A motor 54 forwardly rotates and both manuscript transfer roller pairs 49, 50, 51, 52 also forwardly rotate and a manuscript 47 is forwardly moved on an image pickup apparatus 58 in an a-direction to be scanned. At the same time, when the presence of the left and edge of the manuscript 47 is detected by the first microswitch 56, the image pickup apparatus 58 starts image pickup operation. Then, the calligraphy image of the manuscript is formed to the first region of screen printing base paper 7 on the downstream side thereof by plate making tecknique and, when the absence of the right end edge of the manuscript 47 is detected by the second microswitch 67, the motor 54 reverses and the manuscript 47 is forwardly moved on the image pickup apparatus 58 in a b-direction to be scanned and the same calligraphy image of the manuscript as mentioned above is formed to the second region of the screen printing base paper 7 on the upstream side thereof. |
