PURPOSE:To perform sharp recording by shortening the distance between a heat generating part and a body to be recorded, by providing a plurality of signal electrodes and a common electrode on layers different from each other and forming a lacked part to the common electrode in order to reduce the conduction of heat between adjacent heat generating parts. CONSTITUTION:A common electrode 5 is provided on a glaze layer 2 and signal electrodes 4 are provided on an insulating layer 8, and the common electrode 5 and the signal electrodes 4 are arranged up and down so as to hold the insulating layer 8 therebetween. When the common electrode 5 is branched and respective common electrodes are mutually positioned under heat generating layers 3 so as to provide gaps 8a, the insulating layer 8 protrudes in the gaps 8a and the parts of the common electrode 5 under the heat generating layers 3 are thermally blocked each other and, therefore, even when heat is transferred to the common electrode part under the heat generating layer 3 selectively heated, the transfer of heat to other common electrode part is obstructed and the surface of the protective layer on the heat generating layer to which no current is supplied does not rise in temp. As a result, the contrast of a latent image due to the surface temp. difference of the protective layer 6 can be increased and a sharp printing is obtained. |
