PURPOSE:To prevent the reproduction of a noise pattern by reading repetitively the video information stored in a video memory at the leading through reapplication after the intermission of main power supply and outputting it as reproduced information. CONSTITUTION:A CPU in the operation enable state by a backup power supply supervises the application of main power supply and when it is discriminated, a selector switch 15 is thrown to the position (b) to read the video information stored in a video memory 18 repetitively and to reproduce the still picture. Moreover, the video memory 18 is operated by the backup power supply even when the main power supply is interrupted and so long as the disk is not ejected, the final readed video information just before the main power supply is interrupted is stored. Thus, the reproduction of the noise pattern is prevented at the leading period from the reapplication of power supply to the reproduction start of the video area, that is, the leading period, and the story just before the power supply interruption is reminded of easily in a short time.
