PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having definite density and high strength, elastic modulus, washing fastness and light fastness, by contacting a specific para-oriented aramid fiber with a dyeing liquid and allowing the dye of the dyeing liquid to uniformly distribute in the fiber. CONSTITUTION:A fiber produced by spinning a para-oriented aramid having an intrinsic viscosity of >=3.5, e.g. poly-p-benzamide, poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide, etc., is made to contact with a dyeing liquid of e.g. cationic dye e.g. by immersion to effect the uniform distribution of the dye in the fiber and obtain the objective dyed aramid fiber having a density of 1.41g/cm<3> and suitable for protective clothing for fireman and aviator, heat-resistant clothing, rope, etc.
