PURPOSE:To enhance ink receptivity, water resistance and the sharpness of a recording image, by containing a solvent-soluble resin (resin A) and a solvent- insoluble resin (resin B), both of which absorb a specific amount of water, in an ink receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:A resin A is a polymer complex consisting of a basic polymer and an acidic polymer and contains a repeating unit wherein mol. wt. of a side chain having a hydroxyl group is 74 or more and an ethylene oxide polymer with average mol.wt. of 100000 or more, a copolymer based on ethylene oxide or a modified substance thereof is used. As a resin B, sodium polyacrylate or a vinyl alcohol/acrylamide copolymer is used. The water absorbing quantities of the resins A, B on the basis of their own wt. are pref. set so that the resin A absorbs 0.5 times or more of water and the resin B absorbs 50 times or more of water from the aspect of the ink absorbability of an ink receiving layer. The ratio of the resin B to the resin A is set so that the wt. ratio of A:B is 1:10-15:1. By this method, a recording image showing excellent ink receptivity and having excellent sharpness is obtained. |
