PURPOSE:To improve the lightfastness of a magenta dye image by using at least one kind of specified magenta coupler and at least one kind of specified compd. CONSTITUTION:At lest one kind of magenta coupler represented by formula I and at least one kind of compd. represented by formula II are used. In the formula I, Z is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form a hetero ring contg. N, the ring may have a substituent, X is H or a group releasable by a reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and R is H or a substituent. In the formula II, R1 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, a heterocyclic group or a residue of a cross-linked hydrocarbon compd., R2 is a substituent, m=3-6 and n=0-3. A silver halide photographic sensitive material with remarkably improved lightfastness of a magenta dye image is obtd. |
