PURPOSE:To permit embossed marks to be displayed by forming satin surface on the side wall surface of tire by a method in which the wall and bottom of the recessed cavity of a mold for vulcanization and molding of a tire are flattened and smoothened and a satin surface is formed on the side wall surface other than the recessed cavity. CONSTITUTION:A recessed portion 15 forming various marks, e.g., letters, numerals, etc., to be displayed on the surface of the side wall of tire is provided on the side surface 16' between the decoration groove 13' and the rim line groove 14' of a mold. A satin surface having many fine projections and recessions with a maximum height H of about 20mum is provided to the remaining side surfaces 16 and 16' other than the recession 15. The satin surface is obtained by application of discharge of pulse current to the facing ends, by immersing in an insulator oil, of the side wall 16' and the plate electrode 17 of Cu alloy, both being faced with each other at an interval of 0.01-0.1 mm. The satin surface having a high suppressing effect on bare can thus be obtained and smooth, flat surface of various marks can be formed. The tire having an excellent decorating effect can be obtained. |
