PURPOSE:To extinguish accumulated energy up to at least a level of practical use by extinguishing energy which remains on a panel as an afterimage by employing light irradiation and heating together. CONSTITUTION:An erasing light source device 10 irradiates the panel 14 uniformly with light emitted by an erasing lamp 20. A filter 21 which removes disturbing light is inserted when necessary. The erasing light source 20 uses a tungsten lamp, halogen lamp, etc., but any lamp which emits light contributing to extinction is usable. A heating device 11 uses, for example, a plate type electrric heater which contacts the panel 14, and any heater which heats the panel 14 uniformly such as an infrared lamp and a hot blast is used as well. An efficient temperature range is 50-500 deg.C. The light irradiation and heating are carried out either successively or simultaneously. |
